Meet Susan Parker

Founder, Independent Educational Consultant

As someone who has always lived in a college town whether it was near Dartmouth College, UC Berkeley, UNC-Chapel Hill, DePaul University or Northwestern, Susan thrives on the buzz of campuses, students, and collegiate energy. Her interest in connecting with students and parents during the college search process began as a tour guide her sophomore year at Middlebury College. After receiving her B.A. in History and French, Susan represented Middlebury as an alumna interviewer enjoying 20 years of conversations with prospective students.

Susan’s journey into educational consulting began when her eldest child applied to college. Navigating through the complexities of the application process opened her eyes to just how overwhelming and unclear it can be. Determined to help not only her own children, but also their friends, Susan immersed herself in understanding the many aspects of college admissions. What started as a personal mission soon blossomed into a passion and, in turn, Your Right College Fit consulting practice. 

Today, as an independent educational consultant, Susan is dedicated to demystifying the college admissions process. She believes in empowering students to discover their unique strengths, articulate their ambitions, and find the educational path that aligns with their aspirations. Susan provides support every step of the way: from identifying colleges that are the right fit, to eliciting compelling applications and resumes, to navigating financial aid options, to staying on top of pressing deadlines.

Before discovering her calling as an independent educational consultant, Susan built a career in advertising, marketing and public relations which has equipped her with skills in mentoring, communication, and strategic planning—assets that complement Susan’s love for all things college-related.

Susan is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consulting Association (IECA) conducting her work according to the IECA’s standards of ethics and principles. She continues to pursue further education for professional development, networking and access to current trends and resources. Her goal is to provide the newest insights and innovations to students and families in the pursuit of the right college fit.
